Amazon.com
Bob can't wait to see his twin brother, Tom, who's coming all the way from the Arctic Circle to visit for Christmas. As Bob's list of things to do suddenly swells to unmanageable proportions thanks to the arrival of rock band "Lennie and the Lazers" and the new mayor's very specific ideas about the town's Christmas celebration, even the ever-optimistic Bob wonders, "Can we do it?" While Bob and his crew struggle to finish the necessary preparations, lead singer Lennie develops laryngitis, John the songwriter and piano player (voiced by Elton John) struggles with writer's block, and Bob's brother Tom stops to help a little lost reindeer and misses the only available boat. Can quick thinking and cooperation make this dismal Christmas turn out merry? Features the classic Elton John hit "Crocodile Rock." (Ages 3 to 7) --Tami Horiuchi

Are You Being Served? Christmas

# Genres: Comedy
# Plot Outline The misadventures of the staff of a retail floor of a major department store.
# Plot Synopsis: This quintessentially British sitcom is about Grace Brothers, a department store in London which is owned and kept traditional, almost pre-war (e.g. precise dress code for ladies frills and gentlemen's hats according to rank), by two brothers who look old enough to have fought in the Boer war but rarely appear, as most scenes play on one floor where Mr. Cuthbert Rumbold is the executive (meaning he enjoys an endless parade of foxy but stupid secretaries) in charge of management while his dignified floor walker, Captain Stephen Peacock, has daily charge over two small sales teams. The fat and bossy, implicitly man-hungry widow Mrs. Betty Slocombe supervises the attractive Miss Shirley Brahms (with a terribly common Cockney accent) -with first choice of customers, on commission- the sale of women's clothes and accessories; the sales star at the gentleman's side is Mr. Wilberforce Clayborne Humpries, an implied closet-gay true gentleman, whose successive superiors are first obviously nearly retired Mr. Ernest Grainger and later formerly independent Mr. Grosman while the successive cheeky juniors are Mr. Dick Lucas and Mr. Bert Spooner. A regular visitor, and the only manual laborer but apparently best paid, is union representative Mr. Mash. Their interaction with each-other and the customers is quite formal in principle, but turns out comical in practice.

Pioneer kids tv educator:Paul Tripp makes his leep to

The big screen in this musical Christmas tale that is

"The Christmast That Almost Wasn't"tells the story of

a mean and vindictive miser:"Phinease T.Prune"(played by

romantic singing lead:Rosino Brazzi of "South Pacific

Seeing that "Prune"will not listen to reason and he

refuses to disregard the rent bill.

"Whipple"gets Santa a job at"Prim's Dept.Store"where

he listens to the kids'Christmas wishes ,entertains them

A Christmas Story (Two-Disc Special Edition)

DVD features
The kids take center stage for this 20th Anniversary edition DVD. For the commentary track, Peter Billingsley and director Bob Clark chummily reminisce on the making of the film, which seems to have been as delightful as the film itself. Because it was such a small film, Clark relates how they were left alone to do whatever they wanted, as long as fuddy-duddy author Jean Shepherd wasn't on the set. The new documentary features Billingsley and the three other former child actors' recollections about the shoot. The kids even help out with two trivia tests, but why is there nary a peep about or from co-stars Melinda Dillon and Darren McGavin? Two 30-minute radio segments of Shepherd's reading his original stories is a nice touch for this double DVD set, as is a featurette about the real Red Ryder guns. Best yet, the film has never looked better, finally available in widescreen (along with pan and scan). --Doug Thomas

The 12 Days of Christmas Eve

A cute modernized "remake" (or rip-off) of ITS A WONDERFUL LIFE.
Weber makes the film.
Of course he really wasn't such a bad guy to start with which throws the story a little out of whack... heck, he saved the family business from Chapter 11 and made it a success so the whole family is now financially secure.... cut the guy some slack!!

We watched this the same day as the Pitt/Jolie movie MR AND MRS SMITH and actually enjoyed this one a bit more.
